Another one of our all-time favorite females is Lee's Miss Lucy Manso (P), and we think you better go ahead and bid on this one because she is that good!! Lucy was successfully campaigned all over the southeast by a young junior, and together, they hung banners at every show they attended. People love Lucy for how classy she is from the side, making a perfect photo. She is level-hipped, ultra-feminine, and extra stout from the rear, still standing on a giant foot and bone. This female has been one of our best show heifers and probably one of our best-pedigreed donors on the place! She is sired by ABBA's #1 all-time champion-producing grey bull, +Mr. V8 279/7 is a son of the iconic breed changer bull, as everyone knows +JDH Mr. Elmo Manso 309/4. Not to mention the true matriarch dam to +279/7, +Miss V8 510/6, who raised two herd sires for V8 Ranch and produced the only female in history to be named national champion, who is +Miss V8 100/7, the mother to +Mr. V8 458/7 "Noble." The dam to Lucy is FF Miss Ruben SG 446, who has also been one of our background donors for the past several years. She is sired by the 2013 ABBA premier show bull of the year, Mr. SG 85/1, whom Ford Farms purchased back in 2012 from Adelyn Allen and out FF Miss Ruben Manso 202, an own daughter of the leading herd sire JDH Mr. Ruben Manso 549/1. It is noted that Lucy has won many state shows here in Mississippi, and people know who she is by being crowned the Dixie National Reserve Mississippi Bred Female of 2023. We get most excited when you study the EPDs of this female, as she ranks in the top 20% of the breed for docility and 30% for birthweight and milk.
